CPW: what is it and how is it calculated?Updated 3 months ago
CPW (Cost Per Wear) shows how much a garment costs per use. The idea is simple: the more you wear it, the lower the “cost per wear” becomes. Quite often, the pieces you reach for week after week turn out to be the best investments in your wardrobe 💛
Example:
If a garment costs €159.90 and you wear it once a week for five years, that adds up to around 260 wears.
➡️ €159.90 / 260 wears = CPW €0.62 per wear
CPW is always a bit personal and varies depending on the wearer and the product. It’s influenced by things like:
- how often you wear the item
- how big your wardrobe rotation is (do you wear 5 pieces or 50?)
- how long the style stays a favourite — do you pass it on or wear it for years?
- whether it’s an everyday staple or a special occasion piece that sees less use
The good news: Kaiko pieces tend to hold their value well. Many of our customers resell their pre-loved Kaiko items for around 40–60% of the original price. When you get part of the price back, the true CPW becomes even lower ✨
